Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026
1. Who we are
Geeg ("Geeg", "we", "us") operates an online platform that helps students learn job-ready skills, build real projects, and connect with employers in Nigeria and beyond. By creating an account or using Geeg in any way, you agree to these Terms of Service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must provide accurate, current information when you sign up, and you're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- One person, one account. Accounts are not transferable.
- We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms, provides false information, or is used for fraud, harassment, or abuse.
3. What Geeg provides
- Geeg Learn: self-paced courses, some AI-generated, built around real YouTube tutorials with AI-written summaries and quizzes.
- My Task: real project briefs, generated by AI, assigned automatically once a student finishes a course, with an AI mentor and an AI review of submitted work.
- Explore Geegs: a place for students to find gigs and for employers to find builders, message each other, and agree on paid work.
- Wallet & escrow: employers fund a contract's amount up front; Geeg holds it until the employer marks the work satisfactory, at which point it's released to the student's wallet. Disputes are reviewed by Geeg admin.
AI-generated content (course material, quizzes, project briefs, and reviews) is produced by a third-party AI model and may contain mistakes. Use your own judgment before relying on it, especially for anything safety-, legal-, or finance-related.
4. Payments
- Geeg's wallet holds Nigerian Naira (NGN). Top-ups and payouts are processed by our payment partner, Squad; Geeg does not store your card or bank details.
- Funds an employer puts into escrow for a contract are held until the contract is marked complete, refunded, or resolved through a dispute.
- Geeg may charge a service fee on contracts or payouts; any fee will be shown before you confirm a payment.
- You're responsible for any taxes that apply to money you earn or spend on Geeg.
5. Conduct
You agree not to:
- Impersonate someone else, or misrepresent your skills, identity, or company.
- Post unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent content, or attempt to defraud another user.
- Circumvent Geeg's escrow system to avoid fees (e.g. asking to be paid outside the platform for work arranged on it).
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the platform's normal operation.
6. Content and ownership
- You keep ownership of work you create and upload to Geeg (project submissions, portfolio pieces, messages).
- By submitting work for review, you give Geeg permission to store and display it back to you and to the employer or reviewer it was submitted to.
- You're responsible for making sure anything you upload doesn't infringe someone else's rights.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Geeg is provided "as is." We don't guarantee that courses, AI-generated content, or job matches will meet your expectations, or that the platform will always be available or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, Geeg isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited under Nigerian law.
8. Termination
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Contract and wallet obligations already in progress survive account closure until resolved.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Geeg evolves. If we make a material change, we'll show a notice in the app. Continuing to use Geeg after a change takes effect means you accept the update.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
